Barack Obama: The Audacity of Hope

Wow -- GObama-Biden! A most excellent Democratic National Convention with a nifty soundtrack that included John Mellencamp, Bruce Springsteen, and Steve Earle, plus The Sisters Sledge: "Get up ev'rybody and sing!"

Reclaiming the American Dream, indeed . . . . .

Today's Runes: Defense and Joy.

  1. I wonder if mccain would be calling Obama a "celebrity" if he could fill a 90,000 seat stadium. (without busing thousands of people from thousands of miles away?

  2. That was one of the best, if not the best, political speeches I've ever seen. He covered a huge amount of ground and covered a lot of bases.

With McCain's pick of anti-abortion arch-conservative Sarah Palin as his running mate this morning, our chances just went way up.

  3. Hum, although I didn't know the name, I predicted the background of the Republican VP. Pretty easily done.

  4. Enjoyed all the speeches. Thought the Democratic convention was one of the best I have seen, and I'm hoping it will bring back a Democrat to the white house. Especially one as gifted as Obama.

  5. Good point, Charles. I thought of your comment when I heard the announcement.

It was quite a speech! Inspiring, addressing all of the attacks and coming back strong.
