Hotter Than a Pepper Sprout
You may know it from Johnny Cash and June Carter, either studio or live via At Folsom Prison (1968). Here's a 1967 version of the Leiber/Wheeler song, "Jackson" aka "I'm Goin' to Jackson," performed by Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazlewood. Wives, don't forget your "Jaypan" [Japanese] fan . . .
I like the Folsom Prison version better. Arguably the best (until his last) Cash LP ever done.
ReplyDeleteLove that song. When I was in grade school, I had a girl friend I'd walk to school with, and I remember singing "Jackson" with her.
ReplyDeleteNancy was a cutey back in the day eh?
ReplyDeleteErik, I have a couple of versions of "Jackson" on the 'ole pod, but I like the Cash/Carter version the best.
