James Brown was a man's man.
He lived like a man
and on Christmas Day he died like a man.
-- Al Sharpton
2006: That Was The Year That Was.
Life keeps getting weirder every passing year, and I suspect 2007 will have its due.
Philip K. Dick may have been a bit erratic and perhaps more than a little crazy, but his visionary fiction is on target for the "real" world, mood-and-mind-altering drugs, chips, implanted cyborg memories and all.
Meanwhile, more than 3,000 US KIA in Iraq and 357 or more in Afghanistan.
And here comes Bozo the Clone over the horizon like a living Goya painting.
A new Stooges album in the works after thirty years.
Which reminds me of the ironic lines from "1969" and the original Stooges incarnation, as good a sendoff for 2006 as any:
It's 1969 okay
All across the USA
Another year for me and you
Another year with nothing to do
Happy New Year, dear readers, and RIP to the departed of 2006, dear and not so dear. . . Hope you have a good one!
Today's Rune: Warrior.
Bon voyage!

That's a cool thought. I like the Al Sharpton quote.
Great Blog! A year to reflect upon for sure...Happy New Year.
There's no way the Stooges can capture what they once had. Have a Happy New Year, Erik!
New Stooges album? No way! Should I be excited or afraid?
