Why is BAS doing this? To create panic or to elicit moves away from midnight. I'm very, very suspicious. What does this press release gain?

Shades of a "star war defense system" and more Nuclear Scientists to build one. Could they be creating employment? If so will it have to be built in China? MW
Thanks all for the comments! Good idea to be wary of atomic scientists, but I think they're as nervous about climate change as people in other fields these days. In the James Bond 007 field, the Chinese govt. shot down one of their own satellites recently just to see if they could.
What a scarey thought. I guess we both had our minds on similar themes . . . yours - waiting for the bomb to drop . . . mine - feeling the after effects.
