Ah yes, the year I graduated from high school (1981) and some weird kid in my senior class dug Devo, while the rest of us were listening to AC/DC, Cheap Trick, The Romantics, The Rockets ...
For some reason, after working a bunch of estate sales, I ended up with a bunch of Devo albums -- worn out and scratched, yet timeless.
Thanks MW and Jim for the comments -- I like all those bands but also think Devo is underrated precisely because they did seem so weird at the time.
