That Day

Today is that day -- graduation. I feel like I'm living on the set of Goodfellas with all the juggling of disparate activities. Pasta, anyone?

Tomorrow, Comedy Central begins a six-episode run of 'Lil Bush, featuring Iggy Pop as the voice of 'Lil Rummy. Perfect! He already played "Son of a dog: General Dozier" on his 1982 sendup, "Bulldozer" (Zombie Birdhouse). So Iggy's back in the funhouse -- and he's here to stay. Thank God. One thing politicians really hate is being satirized. Well, if that's what it takes to roil them, so be it. (Oh, and: losing power.) The Cheney character grrrrrrrrrrrrrrs a lot. It's pretty funny from what I've seen.

Today's Rune: Initiation.

Birthdays: Cosimi de’Medici, Yamamoto Tsunetomo, Harriet Martineau, Otto Skorzeny, George H.W. Bush, Brigid Brophy, Anne Frank, Rona Jaffe, Chick Corea, Roy Harper, Brad Delp, Pete Farndon, Robin Konarz.

Bon voyage! Happy Birthday, Robin!
