Doin' The Things That We Want To

Back in the summer of '91, I got to see Pavarotti sing to Princess Diana in the rain -- in London. I was staying nearby at the time, so it was an easy walk. I was boarding with filmmaker Bob Dunbar and his Russian-born wife Tatiana; down the hall from my room was a small bedroom where Nick Dunbar had stayed after his parents John Dunbar and Marianne Faithfull split up -- her to hook up with Mick Jagger. The room still had his eerie Aubrey Beardsley prints on the walls.

In 1966, John (Bob and Tatiana's son) introduced John Lennon to Yoko Ono at the Indica Gallery. I got to stay with these cool people out of pure luck. So far as I know, Bob and Tatiana are both, like Princess Diana, like Pavarotti and John Lennon, among the departed now. But I'm still alive, and I'll remember my London internship adventures for quite a little while. Happy birthday John, salud Yoko!

P. J. Harvey lookin' groovy.

Today's Rune: Breakthrough.

Birthdays: Robert de Sorbon, Alfred Dreyfus, Marina Tsvetaeva, Jacques Tati, E. Howard Hunt, Lila Kedrova, Danièle Delorme (Girard), John Lennon, John Entwistle, Jackson Browne, Sharon Osbourne, P. J. Harvey, Sean Lennon.

Ciao London!

As it said Jimmi Hendrix "Who dies is made for the remaining portion of the life" (laughs)

I forgot myself the date completely.

Congratulations John, where it will be!

Very cool! What great stories and memories you must have, Erik.
Happy Birthday John! Miss you.
My friend, Vince Knight played guitar for Yoko (he also played with many other famous musicians and singers.)
He's going to New York next month and he'll be having lunch with her. He's going with another musician friend of mine (you probably know him - guitarist Jim McCarty - he played with Mitch Rider; Cactus; The Rockets and played along with Hendrix, Clapton, Van-Halen...)They are attending some Hendrix event.
Love Paul! His voice is embedded in my mind - growing up with him.
Great rune too! I pulled one the other day about my situation: Standstill (re: the relationship)
Last night I pulled "Harvest" for myself. The one year thing has me crazy since I am so impatient - and yet, one year flies by (had I started all this last Oct!)
PS Glad you're still alive!

people say I'm crazy doing what I'm doing'...when I say that I'm ok, they look at me kinda strange...when I tell them I'm that I'm doing fine watching shadows on the wall...I'm just sitting here watching the wheels go round and round...no longer riding on the merry go round;I tell them there's no problems, only solutions...

be well in your rest John

George you as well

thanks Erik

The Lou Reed song you refer to in the title is one of my favorites of his, from an underrated album, New Sensations.

I miss John Lennon a lot. Sure would be nice to have him around these days.
