Anyone remember The Limits to Growth (1972)? Its authors postulated that the world's population could not keep growing forever -- global resources would be depeleted sooner or later. Were they essentially correct, or can the Earth sustain a population well in excess of ten billion people? Some of us may be around to find out -- or not. Right now there are between six and seven billion of us sucking up resources, some more than others. India and China are the new titans (exceeding one billion people each), though "the West" has done a pretty good job of pillaging the globe for the past 500 years or so.
What I do know is this: today in downtown Detroit as the North American International Auto Show gears up, there's a literal herd of cattle roaming around Cobo Center. Some kind of publicity stunt -- steer clear!

Really, if to continue nesse growth rhythm, the land will not support, as much people producing garbage with plants and vehicles emitting gauzes. For here, the poor peoples if multiply as rabbits and the rich ones when they prefer to have only one.

Fuck it if we are too stupid to manage the resources we have that would feed and shelter the whole of humanity then we deserve what we get as a people.
I read about that cattle stampede this morning it was about the introduction of either the new for f150 or the dodge ram not sure which, but I stay away from all those crowds anyway because to me it is like being in a herd.

You know, I loved Self-help, but I couldn't really get into any of Moore's novels.

It's funny-- we've enjoyed this last blast of fossil-fuel squandering, but now we are indeed reaching our limits. As those noted philosphers "Guns 'n' Roses sang, "Where do we go from here?"
