As I Was Drifting Past the Lorelei
In praise of Roxy Music -- some weird sinful cross between David Bowie, Talking Heads, New Wave and Punk -- back in 1973 . . . . . Definitely worth (re)discovering on iTunes. . . . .
Today's Rune: Signals.

It definitely evokes that time frame.
I've always been a fan of Bryan Ferry, even if a certain music magazine said he had the worst voice in rock-n-roll music. They'd also said a certain Jefferson Airplane vocalist was a wimpy rocker.
On a similar note, how about the Tubes? Remember them? They were cool too. Unfortunately, I saw a sign indicating they were headlining the Hayloft in Mount Clemens. What happened there?
Thanks for the comments, dudes!
Jim, the magazine was wrong! Tubes were cool, too. Yeahdawg!
As for arcs and artists, not much sense there, really. I once saw Bo Diddley in a place about the size of a postage stamp. He was terrific, despite the small audience. Bryan Ferry is cool, and I like his vocal style. Sometimes campy, sometimes straight up. There's no accounting for tastes, as they say . . .
