In Spain, Tradeoffs and Choices

One more time for the back seats! I'll keep this short.

Team Woody Allen brings its A game to Vicky Cristina Barcelona (2008). Beautifully shot, broadly romantic, lots of choices, secrets and surprises. Makes me want to relax in Spain or . . . anywhere.

Spanish locales like Avilés, Oviedo and Barcelona, with a touch of Spanish music and straight up omniscient narration enliven the entire film. All the actors are fun to watch and vicariously enjoy as characters.

Touches on life's decisions and tradeoffs, fears and longings. Gets at the excitement of new experiences. Sense vs. sensibility, with twists. Will see this one again soon, for sure. Wonderful stuff!

Today's Rune: Partnership.
