Paris, je t'aime
The movies: Paris, je t'aime (2006) and New York, I Love You (2009). In the first, there are eighteen vignettes that I suppose can be sliced and diced any way you like once you've got them in digital format. In the second, there are twelve shorts.
In Paris, je t'aime, Ben Gazzara and Gena Rowlands still have that acting swing; I was especially touched by their bittersweet little scene.
I may be in the minority, but I love dense urban centers, small towns and woodsy areas all about equally. However, if money was no obstacle, my ideal would be to have a small flat in Manhattan or Paris or Madrid or London or Buenos Aires or Toulouse and also a house in the country with some open land surrounded by heavy timber, no other house in sight. (In future, the latter would be in the Spanish style, an open courtyard surrounded by tile-roofed living and working quarters. Yeah!)
In my lifetime so far, I've had the one or the other, but never both at once. Why be greedy? It's been pretty cool either way. Vive la différence!

Just show me a way to get my feet off the concrete and I will deal with the where when I get there.
how great would it be to have a place in a city like Paris and a place in a remote part of France...
I'd prefer the country with no one in sight, but my wife prefers those shopping malls. Someone has got to stimulate the economy.
I would love to have a place in the country side, I love green scenaries and water! I also would love to live in a city like Paris, NYC is just too hectic for me
I've always longed for the NYC or Paris flat/country home as well.
Erik, judging from your wishing for a place in the city along with a country home, I'd say you were perfect in the role of British Nobleman. lol.
If I had my druthers I would be living on the beach, even a shack would do if there was running water and electricity and indoor plumbing. I love the sounds of the sea.
Hey Eric, having lived in northern Michigan has been enough of a "woodsy" experience for me. However, a boho type flat in Paris with access to the country would be too cool. Happy Valentine's Day to you!
Thanks all for the comments -- excellent!
Happy Ides of Feb'y!
