Meanwhile, back in Europa . . . already the 25th anniversary of Don DeLillo's White Noise and its "Airborne Toxic Event" (the Bhopal disaster transpired in 1984); next year, the same anniversary for Chernobyl and my ill-fated honeymoon trip to Europe. DeLillo was exactly right on target, and still is. No need for a movie version -- we have the reality versions rolling out on a regular basis.
