It's 1953, Okay? All Across the USA

A little more from 1953. Let's not forget From Here to Eternity and The Wild One.

Lee Marvin as Chino, Marlon Brando as Johnny -- perfect foils. Of the two, Chino is actually a little sharper. Have a favorite Brando movie? Marvin? And the cast of From Here to Eternity -- also stellar.

Today's Rune: Harvest.

Favorite brando movie. Hum, well my least favorite would be his take with Val Kilmer in "Not to go on four legs, this is the law"

To be honest, I'm not that familiar with Brando flicks, so I'll have to go with "Stelllaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!" ;)

I"ve got to say my favorite Brando movie is "The Godfather." And his comic turn on that role in "The Freshman."

Lee Marvin? So many great roles: Point Blank, The Dirty Dozen, The Professionals...it's ironic that a guy who made a career playing a heavy won his only Academy Award in a comedy, "Cat Ballou."

My favorite Burt Lancaster role was in "Local Hero."

Oh my, Erik-- Charles is right. I watched it on cable some years ago and wanted my two hours back. Amazingly bad.
