Joie de vivre: Dr. Bronner, Dr. Brown

Little things that make living happier: Dr. Bronner's Magic Soap and Dr. Brown's soda. Seeing Dr. Bronner's Magic Soapbox recently inspired me to look for the Dr. Bronner label again. Seek and ye shall find: there they were, bottles of Dr. Bronner's liquid soap and/or soap bars at a large health food store, the Spiral Diner and -- believe it or not -- Target. Wowza, I picked up half a dozen sample size bottles to check 'em out.

Then there's Dr. Brown's soda. My parents have always been deli patrons, getting fresh cuts of various things, plus pickles, pretzels, and so forth.  My Dad often picks up some Dr. Brown's, as well -- he introduced me in childhood to a truly old school flavor, Cel-Ray (as in celery); other Dr. Brown flavors: black cherry (compare with Dr. Pepper, Cheerwine or the drink formerly known as Mr. Pibb), root beer, ginger ale or orange.  Dr. Brown's Cel-Ray flavor traces all the way back to right after the American Civil War!

An ad for Dr. Bronner's castile soaps. Olive oil and all sorts of other good ingredients.

Cel-Ray, in the past sometimes called "Jewish champagne" because it's kosher and sold in delis. Do you enjoy any of these things, or something similar?

Thanks y'all for the comments ~~ all sounds good to me. I love going out of country (even across the border to Mexico or Canada) and getting different stuff -- starting with a nice Cuban cigar . . .
