Bald and Bold

On the other end of the spectrum from the longhairs, let's not forget the Bald and Bold look. Yul Brynner, for instance (pictured above). A certain fierceness there, certainly. Bald seems to work as well as long hair for warrior types, actors and artists of all types, plus as a religious or ethical statement.

Let's also not forget Sinéad O'Connor, or the short and colored hair of Annie Lenox. You've got your Joan of Arc/Jean Seberg look, your Joan Jett look, your short Punk look and your Grace Jones look.

You've got your Isaac Hayes look, your Michael Jordan and Chauncey Billups look, your Patrick Stewart and older Sean Connery look, your Ben Kingsley look, your Tupac Shakur look and your Telly Savalas "Kojak Nation" look.

Let's not forget your President Merkin Muffley (Peter Sellers) look, your Evan Handler look, your Larry David and your Dave Chappelle look.

How many people do you know who are bald or very very short-haired and what is their vibe?

Today's Rune: Breakthrough.

The first picture completely reminded me of Jo Koy. I think the bald look on women is underappreciated.

I have to admit that the bald look for women is an immense turnoff for me.

La calva de Yul Brinner esta respaldada por la actitud y personalidad que lo hizo único. Dotado de un misterio que el mismo fomento, fue un modelo masculino exótico en su tiempo.

Gracias, thanks for the comments! AD and Charles, on both ends of the spectrum! Lilialula, yes, Yul B.'s look and personality was exotic/ exótico indeed, as you write, and of Vladivostok/Russian background, giving him extra umph internationally.
