B.B. King at Billy Bob's Texas: February 25, 2012

B.B. King, who just last Tuesday night was jamming with President Obama, Mick Jagger and the White House crew, came on down to Billy Bob's and knocked out a fun show starting at 10:30 p.m. His band is smashing, and King himself is alternately funny and electric. When he sings Baby, when I leave here, I won't be coming back again, you believe it. But you never know: this could be the last time he does come around here to play live, or he may be coming back after all. Either way, a good time and out around midnight.

My intent: see as many veteran artists as possible, especially those 65 and over.

By the way, Red, White and Blues: In Performance at the White House will debut on PBS Monday night, February 27, 2012, 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time:  http://www.pbs.org/inperformanceatthewhitehouse/

Today's Rune: Breakthrough.

Erik, those old blues dudes are something else. They have lived and loved hard and are here to sing the stories. Miss the old Soup Kitchen Saloon!

I thought BB King was already dead. Pleasant surprise, lol.
