The Flowery Land

In the 1500s, Spanish activity in La Florida ranged from present-day North Carolina to Southern Florida. This was in addition to colonization farther west and south. Reality check: The Spanish language has been spoken in Florida and the greater region of La Florida for more than 500 years.

"British Florida" (1763-1783) came into being as a result of the Seven Years War; administered as West Florida and East Florida, it was transferred back to Spanish rule after the American Revolution. Much of Florida then remained Spanish until 1819, when it became a territory of the USA.

Not coincidentally, three US-Seminole Wars were fought between the War of 1812 and the American Civil War.

In 2006, the Seminole Tribe of Florida acquired the Hard Rock Cafe chain.

I didn't know the Seminoles owned the Hard Rock Cafe.
