Here's another scan made from a "newly rediscovered" negative of a photo I took a little over twenty years ago. This is Center City Philadelphia, on South Broad Street, facing the American Academy of Music (built in the mid-1850s), where a "snow scene" is being set up as part of the filming for Martin Scorsese's The Age of Innocence (1993), starring Michelle Pfeiffer, Winona Ryder and Daniel-Day Lewis and based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel of the same name by Edith Wharton. Scorsese was mostly overhead in a sort of hydraulic cherry picker, rather fiercely giving directions. Groovy stuff. I was living in an apartment at 1225 Spruce Street at the time, so it was an easy walk to check things out even in the middle of night (less than three blocks).
Today's Rune: Joy.
