Masters of Sex

History-based series usually grab my attention -- especially if they're thoughtful and entertaining. Showtime's new Masters of Sex is both.  It's like a compelling mix of Mad Men (2007-present) and Kinsey (2004). I totally dig it so far, especially the lead actors playing, respectively, "Bill" Masters (Michael Sheen) and "Ginny" Johnson (Lizzy Caplan). The principals are three-dimensional, not sugar-coated, and I love it.

May not be for the overly dainty or sexually squeamish -- unless accompanied by an open mind and a strong heart, or a strong mind and an open heart (or some such combo).

An interesting subtext for Masters of Sex is the matter of human jealousy -- something to watch out for throughout the series and in all human affairs.

Today's Rune: Fertility.   Note: Based on the book by Thomas Maier, adapted and shaped by Michelle Ashford.
