This Side of Paradise: Tracking Jack Kerouac's Route by Map

This is really cool! Using Jack Kerouac's On the Road as his source, Michael L. Hess is mapping Sal Paradise's trek across North America via Google Maps: http://littourature.blogspot.com/

The photo is from the University of Pennsylvania.

Coming out of VMI, I loved reading On the Road and the rest of the Kerouac bookshelf, especially while on the road. After being cloistered in the Spartan sphere of VMI, it was just what I needed at the time.

Viva the Beats!

I'm going to have to get my mother to read Jack's book(s) after the Anne Lamott obsession is over. Miss you!

Hey Cheri,

I like all of Anne Lamott's stuff, maybe the nonfiction books better than the fiction. I was contracted by Gale Research to write a blurb about Operating Instructions and will email it to you at some point (if I can find it :) Thanks for the comments!
