What the hell is "the Homeland," anyway? The creepy name "Department of Homeland Security" is something new in the USA.
This country was never referred to as "the Homeland" in over 200 years. NEVER. As far as I can tell, it began surfacing in the mid-1990s. It became a reality in 2002. Why?
Language shapes reality -- is this the reality we want to live in?Christians, Jews and Muslims call Palestine "The Holy Land" -- starting with the Crusades.
Stalin's Russia was defended as "The Motherland."
Hitler's Germany was championed as "The Fatherland."
In the post-9/11 USA, we are "The Homeland."
Are we being invaded by Martians? Did somebody get high and watch Mars Attacks! and think it a clever idea to call the USA The Homeland?
So much for "We Are the World."

A funny name for our country. Especially since this country is made up of people that come from other nations all around the world.
the homeland security codes are absolutely useless. Who the hell knows the difference between the colors? Hello.... Anybody?
f it does not have to compare U.S.A. with other "empires" of the past. It finds that such as the Roman Empire, also the American Empire goes inevitably to fall? Yes. Such as the English Empire if had to shrink and as much other European empires: the Soviet Union. The American Empire goes to have of if to adapt, because the amount of resources that we use to the costs of the remaining portion of the world is not sustainable. But I wait that me it does not appear to the doors a violent revolution with Barbarians. Because I do not leave to feel me comfortable in my small part of the American Empire (laughs) and is therefore that for many they criticize the American leaders, I always try not to seem prepotent proper in whom I write.
