Wag the Dog

For whatever reasons the G.W. Bush administration conceived and executed the Iraq War and American occupation of Iraq, the endeavor has already become many times more expensive than originally projected to the public. One tally can be found via The Three Trillion Dollar War: The True Cost of the Iraq Conflict (W.W. Norton, March 3, 2008) by Nobel Prize winner Joseph E. Stiglitz (Economics, 2001) and public finance professor Linda J. Bilmes.

Meanwhile, in "Homeland" USA . . . fill in the ellipses . . . while a core related issue, the Israeli-Palestinian deadlock, goes unresloved and underaddressed. It's as if some oily devil is writing the script.

Today's Rune: Wholeness.

Lana and I watched "Wag the Dog" the other night. I'd seen it before. It wasn't as good as I remembered and Lana thought it was OK but nothing special.

Charles, I agree -- the idea was ok, but the actual movie is pretty mediocre, as is Wrong is Right, for that matter.
