Train's Comin' Round the Bend

I hear the train a'comin', train's comin' round the bend: The Night Train, The Party Train, The A Train, The Soul Train, The Blue Train, The Peace Train, The Mystery Train, The Ghost Train, The Midnight Special . . .

The Obama Express brings with it to Washington, DC, something like an 84% approval rating with the American public today; the outgoing guy on The Wreck of the Old 97 has about 31%, so there must be some weird overlap. But when that train, it left the station, there was two lights on behind . . . the blue light was his baby and the red light was his mind . . .

All aboard, folks -- and those who aren't, bye bye so long: you can go away now . . . Casey Jones, you'd better watch your speed . . .

Today's Rune: Partnership.

While glad for the change in administration Erik, I am more respectful of Obama's reaching out to his recent opponents for their input. In doing so he has shown there is a seat for everyone on the train of destiny.

Being from Detroit, which as you know has been floating in the loo for quite awhile, I am taking a more skeptical view of how the "change" is going to help this area, if at all.

Politicians have always come here and decried the things we all know aren't right about this area but once the vote is won, the area returns to the hinterland of federal thought.

Too bad Bush left a lot of debris on the tracks.

A friend of mine's a gov't archivist & will be helping out with tomorrow's festivities. I'm sure he's just thrilled--he was always a history buff, so being a part of history has got to be a high point in his life.
