Ballad of a Thin Ice Shelf

Because something is happening here
But you don't know what it is
Do you Mr. Jones?*

A friend of mine, even as a kid, began calculating what would happen if the polar ice caps melted, how many feet or meters the seas might rise, what wold go under along the coastlines, where the ocean front might end up inland. That was in the 1970s. And here we are now, three decades later, facing the reality. (Image credits: NASA, Wiki Commons). *(Bob Dylan, "Ballad of a Thin Man," 1965).

Today's Rune: Partnership.

I must admit that I've given up on holding out hope & I'm just glad I didn't have any kids to leave this decaying world to. I do worry horribly for my nephews, though...

The New York Times Magazine recently had an article about a global warming denier. Inevitably, like the tobacco industry, the deniers quote "scientists" who are in the pocket of the offending industry, a comparison that Al Gore made in "An Inconvenient Truth."
