Mouse Trap!

Memory flash -- maybe 1964 or '65 -- East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. Mouse Trap. Does anyone else remember this? "It's Mouse Trap!" I was working today on an odd job that required getting up before dawn, and this came to mind. Proust meets Freud and another memory surfaces. Do you remember any favorite childhood games or whatnot? I just remembered a model of the Jupiter 2 from Lost in Space; and maybe a few years later, a model flying saucer spacecraft from The Invaders. And now, there's water on the Moon . . . The discovery of cheese there is still pending.

Today's Rune: Defense.

Never heard of it. My favorite toy from childhood was marbles, followed by Tinker toys. I don't remember us playing any games other than checkers.

Just think what would happen if one of the Mouse Trap pieces was irretrievably lost. Interactive fin for under 8 bucks.

So how did the job go in the pre-dawn?

Erik I had a moustrap game and loved it. Lost in Space can still be seen on WADL Detroit in the evenings.I still like to watch it from time to time. My wife groans when she sees me watching it. Dr. Smith... Enjoy reading your blog.

Erik, I used to love that game, but setting it up between captures was hard for ackward little hands. Enter Mom!

Hey all, thanks for the comments! Ah yes, marbles and Tinkers. Lincoln logs.

Job was exhausting, conference tables.

BElieve it or not - I had all three of the things you mention - Mouse Trap, the big styrofoam Jupiter 2, and the model of the Invaders saucer.

Great thing about having little kids - now we have Mouse Trap again. (Not to mention ots of really cool Lego sets...)(
