Son House: Levee Camp Moan
Son House is intense: all one need do is check out Father Of The Delta Blues: The Complete 1965 Sessions (and please do if you haven't already and dig the blues -- by all means!). "Levee Camp Moan" is long, between nine and ten minutes, and has enough rich content to make a novella. I'll aim to transcribe the words one of these days.
Born near Clarksdale, Mississippi in 1902, Son House died in 1988 and is buried in Detroit's "Old Redford" area -- specifically, Mount Hazel Cemetery, on the east side of Lahser not far below (south of) West Seven Mile Road, between Clarita and Pickford Street.
Today's Rune: Breakthrough.
