Forever Young: Scars of Sweet Paradise

On the one hand, her early death at 27 keeps Janis Joplin forever young. On the other, she'll always seem older to me, as a person. If she'd lived, today she'd be 68. Later this year, Bob Dylan will turn 70. Scars of sweet paradise, indeed.

Happy birthday, Janis: you've sweetened a bitter world through your spirit and energy, a gift to the universe. Existentially, you showed up on Earth and delivered. I dig that in a person. What's not to love?

Today's Rune: Harvest.

Yes, indeed, seems like she is walking along, loved and remembered.

Yeah, I always liked Janis. I have a book, Going down with Janis and I haven't read it. Soon maybe.

Born in the middle of a war and fought one all of her too short life. Sweet soul breathes yet.

Erik, the world was just to mean for janiice to live in. Pity we didn't have her longer, maybe all that could have changed..
