The Geography of Nowhere

Climate change. Geography. Architecture and landscape design. I wonder if, in the near future, there'll be "Forbidden Zones" well beyond those we already have -- places where unauthorized persons must not go. Radiation fields (as around Fukushima and Chernobyl), uranium-fracked landscapes, Superfund Love Canal locales, tornado flats, hurricane-ridden bottomlands, flood-prone plains and swamps, below-sea-level bowls, contaminated wetlands, and so forth.

Will building codes be upgraded to become tornado-earthquake-fire-drought-hurricane-flood-and-bombproof oriented?

Will we go underground like moles, working and ordering goods and services over the internet or its successors? When people go above to the surface, will they don special airsuits? Will modified drones deliver goods from Amazon or its descendents? You tell me. Or, we shall see.

Today's Rune: Defense.

None of those things unless we have a major population crash, which will probably come one of these days.
