After the Ice Storm

Near Liberty, North Carolina, after an ice storm. There have been several in Tar Heel Land in the winter of '13-'14.  This here's a Bottle Tree keepin' the haints at bay.
A couple of days after the ice storm -- damage control.
Male red bird, aka Cardinal, reorients while surveying changes wrought by the latest ice storm.

Today's Rune: Movement.

That red is so gorgeous in that setting. Have only been to NC once--and only Asheville.

Yep the Cardinals got fooled this year too, they have come this far north already. I hoped they were the first sign of change then the arctic slapped me back to reality.

Lana has a great pic down here of a single red cardinal sitting in a snow covered tree. It even happens in the south once upon a great while.
