Friday the 13th

A baker's dozen, twelve apostles plus Jesus. Here in Leonardo da Vinci's L'Ultima Cena, which he completed shortly after Columbus first arrived in the Wesern Hemisphere (weird to think in its own right), Judas knocks over the salt as Jesus reveals a betrayal in the works. Isn't that a woman on Jesus' immediate right, even though it's supposed to be John the Apostle?

More immediately, does Friday the Thirteenth disturb you in any way?

Today's Rune: Defense.

The stuff that came out about this painting after the Da Vinci code got so big taught me a huge lesson, that so many, many times in looking at art, I see without really 'seeing.' it is so clearly a woman in retrospect, but I had always just excepted it being the apostles.
