I'd like to find a widget that lets one spin the globe around from any angle, virtually.

Holy crapplecakes it's all upside down. :p I had to look at it for a while to notice it though, lol. For a moment I just thought it was a map of Australia.

At first I thought I was looking at a map for some fantasy world. Pretty cool.
On the cover of the 1981 version of The Whole Earth Catalog, they had a picture of the earth in this perspective. It really does point out how the "north on top" view is Eurocentric.
That's hysterical. Along that line, I think you'll get a kick out of this.
