Erik, I enjoy reading your blog. It is well written. My dad often spoke of the Detroit Riots in 1943. He was raised in Pole Town,
(which has a rich history), Detroit. He was on his way to Germany to fight in WWII when this happened. One of my crazier drinking great uncles was hit in the head with a brick I believe and my dad used to say he thought it helped him. (He no longer stuttered)Country Joe and the Fish..That is my era. Vietnam was a battle in the war against communism. However, unlike communism, radical Islam will not fall of its own weight. It must be pushed to its destruction. That's where Uncle Sam comes in. There's a time for every purpose under heaven. So strike up "When Johnny comes marching home again, hurrah! hurrah!"
I thought that Bush would have a modicum of sense about attacking Iran. But clearly he'd like to go in with all guns blazing. What a doofus.

Sam, this ain't gonna happen. War can only achieve so much. Charles, let's hope he keeps it to skirmishing and secret ops only. We don't need another firebombing on a vast scale.
