The End of the Century
I miss the Ramones! It's Johnny and C.J. Ramones' birthday. Ooorah!
The end of the 70s, the end of the century . . .
And by tomorrow, the end of a wretched heatwave, I hope.
Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap! From Wisconsin to Florida, from Michigan to Wyoming to Idaho, done dirt cheap! Judges and cops, senators and evangelicals -- gotta watch out for all of them, especially the ones immersed in fire and brimstone.
Border patrol. Keeping a watchful eye on Canada by bike. I suppose this dude would call in an airstrike if necessary. You never know when Canadians might decide to capture Detroit again. 1812 isn't that long ago in some people's minds.
Today's Rune: Fertility.
Birthdays: Gus Hall (Arvo Gustav Halberg), Frank Herbert, Jesse Jackson, Chevy Chase (Cornelius Crane Chase), R. L. Stine, Dennis Kucinich, Benjamin Cheever, Johnny Ramone (Cummings), Claude Jade (Claude Marcelle Jorré), Sigourney Weaver, CeCe Winans (b. Priscilla Winans Love, Detroit), C.J. Ramone (Christopher Joseph Ward), Soon-Yi Previn.
Now I got me my Ph.D. -- & I was a teenage lobotomy!

Happy Birthday Johnny and C. J. Ramone . . . and Chevy and Jesse and Sigourney and CeCe and . . . !
Great post - as always. Love the border patrol photo and caption. Your posts have an interesting variety and they entertain all of my personalities while keeping my ADHD satisfied.
Enjoy the weather today - cooler I heard. I hope fall hasn't fallen away into winter, though.

Finally watched "End of the Century" recently. I didn't realize 1. How right-wing Johnny was (balanced by Joey's leftish, thank god) and 2. That "The KKK Took My Baby Away" was Joey's swipe at Johnny for stealing his girl.
Did you indeed get your PhD recently? If so, congrats!
Ah, the Ramones...thanks for reminding me about "End of the Century".
Hah I love the 1812 reference. That made me laugh when I first read it. =D
