The Lakotah Republic

Have you heard of the Republic of Lakotah? On December 17, 2007, a Lakota delegation in Washington, DC, declared independence from the territorial and governmental control of the USA. This delegation thereby invoked the Fort Laramie Treaty of 1868, reclaiming land previously recognized by the US goverment as Lakota land.

I wonder if Lakotah will become a sort of North American version of Tibet?

These days, never a dull moment. Here's a website for more information:

It is not the land that belongs to the people, it is the people who belong to the land.

Seems to me the United States Government abrogated the Fort Laramie treaty nine years after it was negotiated by seizing the Black Hills which were given them for a homeland.

Will it be the last?

Belonging to a land doesn't necessarily mean you own it.

Divided we all continue to fall, unfortunately. In the words of Rodney King; "Can't we all just get along?" Strike that...I already know the answer. Poor, naive dupe.
