HBO's Treme Begins

Raucous, hepcat start to Treme. Much less bleak than The Wire, despite the aftermath of Katrina. Makes me want to get back to New Orleans, stat. Anyone else see the debut?

Today's Rune: Defense.

SAW IT, LOVED IT. THE MUSIC, THE PEOPLE, THE DETERMINATION OF THE CULTURE TO SURVIVE ON ITS OWN DUE TO SOME VERY TOUGH, RESILIANT PEOPLE. THE SCENE WHERE JOHN GOODMAN TAKES ON THE BRITISH NEWSCASTER IS A GEM, VIEW OF THE INSIDER AS OPPOSED TO THE OUTSIDER WHO DOESN'T HAVE A CLUE.

I didn't see it. Heard about it. Not really my kind of show, despite being somewhat familiar with the area.

I haven't seen it (we don't get HBO,) but I did see a preview on some talk show somewhere. Looks interesting.
