The Architecture: Ephrata Cloister














Something you don't see every day: Ehprata Cloister, Ephrata, Pennsylvania. The religious group that once occupied it is long gone, though descendents live in the vicinity.

Question: how many buildings are constructed with an eye on durability and aesthetic qualities? Related question: why is so much architecture ugly, flimsy, and built not to last?
