Werner Herzog: Cave of Forgotten Dreams

Definitely want to see Werner Herzog's latest, Cave of Forgotten Dreams (2010), a 3-D documentary exploring the ambience and milieu of the Chauvet-Pont-d'Arc Cave in France, where circa 30,000-year-old wall paintings remain intact (having been rediscovered in 1994), among other things left by various cave guests.

It would be so neat to actually be able to go inside. Perhaps I should get a two week job there just so I could :p. I'm pretty sure I could get by for two weeks without knowing much french.

I'd like to see people kept out of it now that it has been filmed.

Coolio~~ danke for the comments, all ~~ Mark, very few people will ever be able to get inside it, I suspect. It's well protected now.

I liked this doc a lot. Herzog doesn't put himself in the film as much as usual; for the most part, he just shows us what's in the cave, which we would never otherwise be able to see. That said, he can't resist throwing in some stuff about radioactive albino alligators and the circus background of one of the scientists. Anyway, it's a very good movie. See it in a theater if you can.
