I got around to checking out Winchester Cathedral (in Old Hampshire, England) in the late 1980s. It wasn't the architecture and history of the place and grounds that first caught my attention as a child, inspiring said pilgrimage, however. No, it was the 1966 hit song, "Winchester Cathedral," with its dance hall sing-along feel, whistling and campy good nature. Funny, that.
So my question out of curiosity is this: Have you made a pilgrimage to somewhere inspired by a song?

That song was one of the first I remember hearing on the radio as a kid, as well as the Beatles "Eight Days a Week," and Van Morrison's "Brown Eyed Girl"
