2011 is all about imbalanced ecosystems and shocks to the system. Some places have way too much water, some way too little. More balance, please. Living in Texas now, this is the hottest, driest weather I've ever experienced for such a protracted number of months. In a year of freakish events and processes, the freakish ice and snow storm during Super Bowl week seems like ages ago now.

Definitely been a freakish year for many, although we've been fairly stable here. But you have to expect it as the world warms up. We're living in some scary times.
Right now in Texas, some are seriously praying for a hurricane to stray over.
