On December 20, 2006, I posted this:
"If you could invite any three people to dinner (dead or alive, famous, fictional, etc.), who would they be, why and what would the topic of conversation be?"
For the after dinner party, same cycle of conversation (no translator necessary) with Anne Sexton, Diane Arbus and Debbie Harry. Another interesting mix, a better looking one, no doubt, and probably just as intriguing.
2011 update:
Now, I'm not so sure. Maybe I'd rather observe the creation of a film, or even help work on one. On the other hand, I'm aiming to see Debbie Harry/Blondie's show this coming October in Dallas, and all the others mentioned above still keep coming up, one way or another, over and over.
Outside "the usual," who would you want to converse with, if anyone?
Today's Rune: Flow.

The fictional character Kane, from Karl Edward Wagner's stories. And Ruenn MacLang. I need more stories.
Tolstoy, Brooks, Bukowski at mid-life. We could all get drunk and talk about beat poetry and how fast it lost it's relevance to it's roots in Greenwich Village and morphed into babble. Of course though Brooks would have to bring her mixology book or Buk would drink whatever straight from the bottle...Tolstoy just for some class to the discussion which would I am sure morph into a talk about class warfare.
I have to say just so you don't think I am a camp follower I chose Bukowski before I scrolled down to the last post...if I had to replace Buk it would be Brautigan.
What a difficult choice! Do not choose someone who can read minds! (laughs ) You've always been a fan of Debbie Harry and I, David Bowie, for his actions more than the music itself.
In addition to David Bowie, call the sociologist, former president of my country, Fernando Henrique Cardoso for good conversation. All in all, I am thinking of a third person :) Beijus,
Tim Burton, MC Frontalot and Penn and Teller (they're a duo, so they're like a two for one deal, right?).
I have no clue what the topics would be, but with that mix I'm sure it would be interesting.
Thanks, y'all, for the comments -- appreciated and noted. All your choices sound like good options.
I'd be game for any and all.
