Confederates of the Twenty-first Century

Shiloh cemetery, Shiloh, Tennessee. United Daughters of the Confederacy marker: "A Confederate American By the Grace of God." (Click on image to see full photo, taken on April 12, 2014).

Yes, Virginia, there are still Confederates living in the 21st century.

Even though we are 150 years on from the War of the Rebellion / American Civil War, while traveling in Tennessee and Mississippi I saw, flying from armed compounds and auto repair shops, both Confederate battle flags and the first national flag of the Confederate States of America (seen flanking the marker above), displayed without accompanying flags of the United States of America. Making me wonder in the parlance of our day, What?
Mississippi state flag -- still.

I don't know about other Americans, but I live in a sovereign nation called the United States of America. How about Children of the Confederacy® (including registered trademark), link here

Why not, we may not be at war but we are at least as split and fractured as population, now as then.
