Al Franken will soon be working in Washington, D.C., as a Democratic US Senator. Excellent!

Sadly this has dragged on so long his term is now up.
I've never read any of his stuff. Wasn't he on Saturday Night Live once or am I mistaking him for someone else? Every single time I see him I think of Saturday Night Live.
It is good that a democrat finally had the balls to contest the reported results of election night. Had Gore (and to a lesser degree Kerry) done it properly there might be a different world out there right now.
This all happened in the expected time frame but remember the Democratic party right now has 2 members not able to vote (Kennedy and Bayh for health reasons) and is somewhat fractious between the center and the left and can still not count on a clear majority of 60 votes because republicans are not of a mind to agree with any bill they have not put forward.
What could turn out though is it set the stage for the midterms for the liberals to pick up a seat or two as long as the republican men can not keep their penis where it belongs.
so it is a step in the right direction but to these politically weary eyes it is just a step.
But on the other hand Monica Conyers is going to jail and that should send a lesson to all politicians of this area. The lesson being that every road ends eventually and it is better to end with honor than disgrace.
Erik, we shall see. I think this is gonna be interesting. Please keep me filled it.
I haven't followed his career, has he done anything worthwhile?

AF is a writer, comedian, and worked with Air America, and he's quite sharp -- as most comics are. I'm guessing he'll do well, and he drives the GOP nuts. Good for him!
