Cadillac Assembly Line
Been catching up on jazz and blues as a backdrop for work, and was digging Albert King today, along with Jimi Hendrix. "Cadillac Assembly Line" was written by Sir Mack Rice of Detroit (originally from Clarksdale, Mississippi, 11/10/1933). As it turns out, Sir Mack was recently featured on The Praire Home Companion via the Fox Theatre. For more on Rice now and then (he's written a lot of great songs, including "Mustang Sally"), see Black Kettle Productions at http://blackkettleproductions.com/?p=3

Those were the years when Caddy's were as big as cruise ships and Detroit was in the dough. Man the baby Fleetwood was some car.
I guess now you'd be singing the blues if you used to work on the cadillac (or some other car) assembly line.
Erik, I still see some of those old beauties around Detroit. Sir Mack Rice showed up one night when we were at the Soup Kitchen and took the stage. Awesome!
